A delegation of 70 Junior Police Call (JPC) members, led by Director of Management Services Li Kin-fai, Senior Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch Tse Chun-chung and member of the JPC Central Advisory Board Mr Ng Siu-keung, visited Beijing on a Cultural Exchange Programme from July 20 to 27 to enrich their knowledge in national affairs, culture and history.

During their stay in Beijing, the delegation attended a flag-raising ceremony at the Tiananmen Square alongside with about 1 000 members from various youth organisations of Hong Kong and the Mainland. Then the JPC delegation and other youth organisations visited the Great Hall of the People, at which they were welcomed by the Vice-President of the People's Republic of China, Mr Li Yuanchao.

The JPC delegation also toured the Great Wall, the Palace Museum, a traditional handicraft gallery as well as the Beijing National Stadium (Bird's Nest) and the National Aquatics Centre (Water Cube).

Furthermore, they attended a lecture at the People's Public Security University of China about the law and order situation and crime prevention message in the local context. The delegation's visit to the Sun Village, a non-governmental organisation taking care of prisoners' children, gave them invaluable experience and inspired them to have a thorough reflection of their lives.
