To echo the World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10, the Psychological Services Group (PSG) encourages officers to show care and support by checking in on someone they care about and start a conversation with them on that day. Officers are also welcome to register for an upcoming talk on mental health.

The theme for the World Suicide Prevention Day this year is "Connect, Communicate, Care". The Force has been promoting a caring culture and urges officers to care for their colleagues and those who might be in heightened risk of suicide. According to the International Association for Suicide Prevention, staying connected and communicating with people in need could help to minimise risk for suicides.

In this connection, PSG has invited former Director of Management Services Tang How-kong to give a talk on how to cope with depression at the Police Headquarters at 6:45pm on September 9. Interested persons may call 2866-1992 for registration.
