Tuen Mun District (TMDIST), Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee (TMDFCC) and Lingnan University joined hands in organising the fourth Summer Fight Crime Street Running Programme on July 11. Over 50 students and teachers from 10 local secondary schools joined the event.

Covering eight progressive running lessons designed by a veteran coach, the programme aimed to enhance the students' volition, perseverance and confidence. Apart from TMDIST police volunteers, students of universities and tertiary institutions were recruited to assist in the training. The programme not only fostered communication between the students and the Force, but also spread fight crime messages to the participants.

Officiating at the kick-off ceremony were TMDIST Commander Mak Wai-man, Police Community Relations Officer of TMDIST Choi Sau-kuen and Chairman of TMDFCC Mr Lee Hung-sham. Ms Mak went along with the students in a 4.3-kilometre run on August 8. She encouraged them to train up their perseverance and courage for taking on challenges.
