The course aimed to enhance the professional capabilities of cyber police commanders from law enforcement agencies (LEAs) worldwide in handling cyber security issues and combating cross-jurisdictional technology crime.

The course attracted the participation of 27 cyber police commanders. Apart from officers from the Force, representatives from Mainland China, Macao, Singapore, Japan, Germany, Australia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, the Dominican Republic, Senegal, Nigeria, Morocco and Tonga also attended the course.

Senior Superintendent Law Yuet-wing, Superintendents Swalikh Mohammed and Tsang Nga-sze and Acting Superintendent Tai Tze-bun of the CSTCB gave lectures on various topics. They also served as mentors in four scenario exercises about formulating cyber policing strategies and executing tactical plans to combat cross-jurisdictional technology crime and organised cyber attacks. Furthermore, renowned cyber security experts from the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, Kaspersky Lab, Splunk and Alpine Security were invited to share their expertise.

Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Yuen Yuk-kin officiated at the closing ceremony of the course. He said that due to the ever-changing cyber threat landscape and the modus operandi of technology crime, it is important for LEAs around the world to keep on innovating to meet future challenges.
