A set of special stamps on "Our Police Force", issued by Hongkong Post to mark the 175th Anniversary of the Hong Kong Police Force, will be available for sale at post offices from April 30.

The stamps showcase different types of police work, ranging from boundary security, crime investigation and detection, cultural diversity and equal opportunity, police training, international collaboration to traffic management. Associated philatelic products include a Stamp Sheetlet, a Presentation Pack, a Prestige Stamp Booklet and First Day Covers. This set of stamps has a distinctive design and the philatelic products provide Force-related information to enhance public understanding of the Force.

Different denominations of the stamps have been enhanced with augmented reality effects corresponding to their design themes. With the aid of technology, the stamps disseminate Force-related information and crime prevention messages in an interactive way. By scanning the stamps with the "HKPostStamps" mobile app, members of the public can access Force information and mini games. For instance, the HK$2 stamp on the theme of boundary security features a three-dimensional image of an Airport Security Unit officer and offers a mini game of matching Force equipment; and the HK$5 stamp on the theme of traffic management offers a mini game of spotting road safety faults to enable members of the public to gain a better understanding of common traffic offences.

In 1994, Hongkong Post issued a set of commemorative stamps for the 150th Anniversary of the Force. Twenty-five years later, it will issue the aforesaid set of special stamps and associated philatelic products from April 30. For special stamps bought on that day or those pre-ordered by January 15, a specially-designed postmark that displays two uniformed officers of the Force can be printed thereon. Meanwhile, the First Day Covers have been on sale from April 12.
