The kick-off ceremony of "Project STAND BY YOU" was held at Tseung Kwan O Police Station on July 4 to mark the start of its mentorship programme. The project is organised by Tseung Kwan O District (TKODIST) and TKODIST Junior Police Call (JPC) Honorary Presidents Council to help young people prepare for employment.

The programme covers career talks, workplace visits and experience sharing. Through the sharing of the mentors, the mentees learn more about the job market, work environment and workplace communication skills to broaden their horizons. In addition, with the counselling by the mentors, the mentees better understand their strengths and weaknesses and set their objectives for education and future careers.

Five TKODIST JPC Honorary Presidents would serve as mentors while 39 TKODIST JPC members have joined the programme as mentees. Acting Deputy District Commander of TKODIST Wong Kai-chung gave a welcoming speech at the kick-off ceremony and presented certificates to the mentors. He encouraged the mentees to make good use of the programme to learn from the mentors. Then the mentors attended a high table dinner with the mentees to learn about each other and discuss upcoming activities.

Later on July 16, a mentor cum Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a banquet group, Mr Cheung Ka-ho, offered a "Shadow a CEO" activity for the mentees to learn about the work of a CEO.
