Rule of laws is the core value of Hong Kong. It can maintain a social order since law is a system of rules that are created and enforced through social or governmental institutions to regulate behavior. Also, it helps regulate and ensure that a community shows respect and equality among themselves by setting up punishment which act as an alarm to the public. Nobody who breaks the laws can escape from the punishment, irrespective of his or her economic or social status. It can ensure that everyone is equal in front of the law whilst no one can have privilege in front of the court. If every one of us abide by the law, the crime rate will of course decrease and our society will be more stable, which will be beneficial to the development of Hong Kong. If there is no law, people with evil desire can do anything they want and the regulations of society will be ruined.

I think that Laws are the most significant rules for everyone to follow. It helps to maintain safe and stable city and ensure our rights. I think that Laws also force criminal to pay for what they did wrongly and provide everybody with a fair environment.
