In a bid to tackle technology crime, Crime New Territories South (NTS) held a seminar on prevention of email fraud and technology crime for local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on October 10. At the seminar, NTS Regional Crime Prevention Office gave a briefing on the modus operandi of the fraudsters while a consultant, Mr Roland Cheung, from the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre provided information of computer technology and tips on prevention of technology crime.

Giving an opening speech at the seminar, NTS Senior Superintendent (Crime) Au Chin-chau appealed to SME operators to join a Security Networking Project, which aims at establishing a faster and more direct electronic communication channel with the SMEs in NTS Region for ensuring timely delivery of crime prevention messages.
