After the official launch of the Senior Police Call (SPC) programme in February, Wong Tai Sin District (WTSDIST) has recruited 491 senior citizens from 19 elderly centres as SPC members. At the same time, WTSDIST has appointed 743 more teenagers as Fight Crime Ambassadors and encouraged the ethnic minorities in the district to join the Fight Crime Ambassadors Programme in a bid to help them integrate into the local community and participate in social services.

In view of this, WTSDIST hosted a SPC cum Fight Crime Ambassadors Appointment Ceremony on May 10, with District Commander Toby Chow officiating before a large gathering of guests. Among the guests were Assistant District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Miss Ma Wan-yin, Chairman of the Wong Tai Sin District Council, Mr Li Tak-hong, Chairman of the Wong Tai Sin District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Wong Kit-lung, and many committee members. Besides the sidelights of the Fight Crime Ambassadors' activities in the past, the guests were treated to a Cappella and singing performances.

WTSDIST has been running a Fight Crime Ambassadors Programme since 2006 to enlist the assistance of elders and teenagers in spreading messages on fighting and preventing crime to their families.
