At the 2013-2014 Kowloon East Best Security Services Awards Presentation Ceremony on November 25, Kowloon East (KE) Region presented 201 awards, including 30 Best Security Guard awards, 108 Good Security Guard awards, as well as gold, silver and bronze awards. The awardees' property management companies were also presented with Best Partnership and Good Partnership Awards.
Regional Commander KE Richard Morgan officiated at the presentation ceremony, which was held for the ninth year. The Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority, Mr Cham Ka-hung, Chairman of the Education and Training Committee, Dr Chan Chi-kau, chairmen of the district fight Crime committees in Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin and Sai Kung, Deputy Regional Commander KE Cheng Shuk-chun, and the District Commanders of Wong Tai Sin, Sau Mau Ping, Kwun Tong and Railway District presented the awards.
The Best Security Guard gold award winner this year, Ms Yeung Pin-fong, displayed alertness and professionalism whilst on duty at Yau Lai Estate, Yau Tong, on August 14. She tried to look for a chronically ill and lone elder when it appeared that the elder had disappeared from the estate. Eventually, she found him collapsed at home. Ms Yeung immediately asked for help and the elder was saved. Ms Yeung also helped police arrest a man for damaging a publicity banner put up at the estate.
