Traffic Kowloon West (T KW) and Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon West Region) jointly staged a "Road Safety Carnival cum Road Safety Artistic Competition Presentation Ceremony 2014" at King George V Memorial Park in Kowloon on December 7.
 
The guests of honour of the ceremony were T KW Chief Inspector (CIP) Lau Tat-fai, Commander of Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon West Region), Mr Chan Shu-lui, Chairman of Kowloon City Road Safety Campaign Committee, Mr Ho Chi-kai, Chairman of Shamshuipo Road Safety Campaign Committee, Mr Cheng Muk-lam, Chairlady of the Organising Committee of Yau Tsim Mong Road Safety Campaign, Ms Kwan Sau-ling, and President of Hong Kong Rehabilitation Power, Mr Yip Cham-kai.
 
CIP Lau thanked organisations, agencies and schools for supporting promotion of road safety for many years and encouraging all walks of life to take part in road safety activities. 
 
At the ceremony, the winners of "Road Safety Artistic Competition 2014" Colouring Competition and Design of Bookmark Competition, accompanied by their family members, received their prizes. The competition was jointly organised by T KW and Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol (Kowloon West Region) between September and October this year in a bid to disseminate road safety messages and road safety concept to children and the disabled. All the kindergartens and primary schools in Kowloon West were invited to join the competitions and a total of over 1 000 entries was received.  After two rounds of adjudication, the champion and 1st and 2nd runners-up as well as merit prizewinners of the kindergarten and primary school groups were selected.
