Over 1 720 officers, civilian staff members and retired Force members took part in the annual Dowman Road Race in Sheung Shui on February 28. Joining the Force runners were more than 90 runners from the other disciplined services invited by the Police Athletics Club.
 
Many supporters gathered along the Shek Sheung River, Beas River and Ng Tung River to cheer on the runners. Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung was on hand to present trophies to the winners.   
 
Sergeant Lai Hok-yan from Kwai Tsing District pulled off the title of Men’s Open again, while Police Constable Tsang Yiu-ying from Police College captured the championship of Women’s Open. The Police Tactical Unit Headquarters team also clinched the Specialist Team Trophy again. The Other Formations Trophy and Ladies Team Trophy went to Wong Tai Sin District and Police College respectively.
 
The Fastest Directorate Officer Cup and the Most Senior Age Disciplined Officer Completing in the Race Cup went to Chief Superintendent Cheung Kin-kwong of Police Complaint & Internal Investigation Branch, and Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung. 
 
Police Athletics Club Chairman, Regional Commander New Territories North Kwok Ho-fai thanked officers of Sheung Shui Division and Lok Ma Chau Division, helpers from Police Football Referee Club, Police Hand Crafts Club, Police Cycling Club and Weapon Training Division, Physical Training Instructors from Police College and PTU, Auxiliary Medical Service, Hong Kong Adventure Corps and individual volunteers for their assistance for the race.
