Kowloon West (KW) Region has rolled out a series of publicity campaigns on the theme of "Eyes, Ears, Mouth, Hands – Four Senses Approach" to promote road safety among elderly pedestrians. In this connection, a kick-off ceremony was held at the Senior Citizen Home Safety Association in Ho Man Tin on June 8, with KW Regional Commander Yu Tat-chung as an officiating guest and the presence of local community leaders and stakeholders.

On the approach of four senses, efforts have been stepped up to drive home the road safety message through the following means: Police Magazine and Cantonese Opera excerpts (Eyes); pre-recorded messages by an artiste Ms Tse Suet-sum on Personal Emergency Link Service to more than 80 000 senior citizens as well as a slogan design competition (Ears); talks at elderly centres and liaison with professional drivers' groups (Mouth); and visits to housing estates in KW, particularly to households of elderly singletons, and delivery of a letter prepared by Traffic KW to every household to further enhance their awareness on road safety (Hands). The campaign is now being carried out in full swing.
