The Deputy Inspector of the Criminal Investigation Department under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), Mr Xiao Chun, led a delegation of 30 crime investigation officers from MPS as well as forensic experts from different provinces to call on the Force from June 13 to 17. They visited the Organized Crime and Triad Bureau, Identification Bureau, Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, Liaison Bureau and Crime Kowloon West Headquarters to enhance their understanding of the Force's work on evidence gathering and criminal investigation.

Mr Xiao made in-depth exchanges with Director of Crime and Security Au Chi-kwong about the fight against various types of crimes. Mr Au welcomed visits by MPS to Hong Kong to forge closer ties. He was confident that both sides would continue to step up collaboration on criminal investigation and forensic technology. Mr Xiao also looked forward to further co-operation with the Force on criminal examination and training activities.

Following the enactment of the revised Criminal Procedure Law on the Mainland in 2013, MPS has arranged nine delegations to Hong Kong to strengthen co-operation in criminal investigation.
