The Force clinched the Top Winner of the Hong Kong Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise Award 2016 and The Best in Knowledge Culture Award for its outstanding performance in fostering a knowledge sharing culture and nurturing a learning organisation.

The Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award is a prestigious annual competition organised by an independent international research organisation in knowledge management (KM) to recognise the achievements of outstanding enterprises and organisations in implementing KM programmes in Hong Kong, Japan, India, Indonesia, Asia, Europe, North America and also globally.

The assessment process of the Hong Kong MAKE Award Competition covered two stages. In the first stage, the Hong Kong Police College (HKPC) represented the Force to submit a written report to the organiser in June. The Force was then short-listed to enter the second round of the competition the following month.

On July 27, HKPC Deputy Director 2 cum Chief Knowledge Champion of the Force Dr Cheng Tak-ming, together with Head of School of Specialised Learning, HKPC Dr Chiu Sau-mee and Senior Superintendent of Crime Wing Support cum Force KM Champion (Detective Plus) Lee Wai-man, gave a presentation to the judging panel about the perpetual journey taken by the Force to enhance its performance through KM, and its challenges in maintaining a Force-wide learning and sharing culture.

After a rigorous review by the judging panel, both the Force and a multinational consultancy were selected as the Top Winners of the Hong Kong MAKE Award. Progressing forward from this award, the Force has advanced as one of the finalists for the Asian MAKE Award 2016.

The Top Winner of the Hong Kong MAKE Award 2016 and The Best in Knowledge Culture Award not only recognised the Force as an admirable law enforcement agency, but also acknowledged its role as a knowledge-driven learning organisation with a commitment to serving the Hong Kong community.
