Under the facilitation of Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) Deputy Commander Kerry Carew and Police Community Relations Officers (PCROs) of YTDIST and Yuen Long District (YLDIST), eight Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) officers shared their experience with members of the Project Gemstone and Project Himalaya on November 12 about how the projects empowered them to join the Force.

The event was held with an aim to engaging more NEC youths to participate in these projects to brush up their Chinese language proficiency and improve their competitiveness to join the civil service. The members of the projects were grateful to the Force for engaging the NEC communities, and hoped the two districts would enhance publicity of the projects. The event concluded with a guided tour to the new Yau Ma Tei Police Station that increased their understanding of police work.
