Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung led a Force delegation to receive four Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Awards on January 12 at the Asian Knowledge Forum cum MAKE Award Presentation Ceremony 2016.

The Force was the only police authority in the world, and the only organisation in China attaining the Global (Independent Operating Unit) MAKE Award 2016. At the same time, the Force won the Asian MAKE Award 2016 as well as the Top Winner and the Best in Knowledge Culture Award of the Hong Kong (HK) MAKE Award 2016 in recognition of its outstanding performance in nurturing a learning organisation and fostering a knowledge sharing culture in the Force.

On behalf of the Force, Mr Chau received the trophies of the Global MAKE Award 2016 and the Asian MAKE Award 2016 while former Chief Knowledge Champion Dr Cheng Tak-ming represented the Force to receive the trophies of the Top Winner and the Best in Knowledge Culture Award of the HK MAKE Award 2016.

During the Asian Knowledge Forum on "Enhancing Service Innovation in the Age of Digitalisation", Dr Cheng gave a presentation on how the Force, as a knowledge organisation, continued to seek perpetual service enhancement. He stressed that the implementation of knowledge management (KM) helped to build an even more capable police authority, keeping Hong Kong as one of the safest and most stable societies in the world.

The MAKE Awards not only recognised the Force as an admirable law enforcement agency in driving and implementing KM, but also confirmed its role as a knowledge-powered learning organisation committed to serving Hong Kong in a global context. In brief, the Force was considered one of the world's leading organisations in creating stakeholder wealth by transforming corporate knowledge into superior services.
