The Launching Ceremony cum Information Day of the Elite Athletes Strategic Engagement (EASE) Scheme was staged by the Service Quality Wing with the assistance of the Force Sports Council, Force sports clubs and relevant stakeholders at the Police College on December 17 in a bid to engage the community.

The Guest of Honour, Deputy Commissioner (Management) Chau Kwok-leung, together with the Secretary General of the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Mr Wong Man-chiu, the Head of Office of the Hong Kong Athletes Career and Education Programme (HKACEP), Mr Wong Tak-sum, and representatives from the Force Sports Council and the Personnel Wing, jointly officiated at the ceremony.

Volunteers from various Force sports clubs served as Facilitators/Assistant Facilitators to mingle with the elite athletes, who were nominated by the HKACEP to serve as Ambassadors. The 40 Ambassadors would be invited to help promoting the Force's image in police sports activities, cultivate a culture of healthy lifestyle amongst the Force members, and consider joining the Force themselves.

Mr Chau presented appointment letters and certificates, signed by Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Kwok Yam-shu, to 48 Facilitators and Assistant Facilitators who had been paired up with the Ambassadors to take the EASE Scheme forward.
