Tuen Mun District (TMDIST), Tuen Mun District Fight Crime Committee (TM DFCC) and Lingnan University jointly held the second TMDIST Fight Crime Cyclothon at the university on February 18. Over 40 youngsters, teachers and principals from nine secondary schools took part in the event and many of the students were Non-ethnic Chinese.

The kick-off ceremony was officiated by Regional Commander of New Territories North Kwok Ho-fai, TMDIST Commander Mak Wai-man, Chairman of TM DFCC Mr Lee Hung-sham, Chairman of TMDIST Junior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council Mr Tang Wing-fai, a representative of the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association cum coach Lai Ho-kei and Police Community Relations Officer of TMDIST Choi Sau-kuen. They then joined a bicycle parade and a mini-marathon with the students. A group of police volunteers cheered on the participants along the way.

At the end of the event, Ms Mak encouraged the students to keep up with their efforts in facing upcoming challenges. The participants rejoiced as they watched a drone clip filmed by the Police Information and Communications Technology Society and a video about the highlights of the event produced by the Police Photography Club. The event helped to foster ties between the youngsters and the officers and instilled positive values among the students.
