Chief Superintendent Wong Ying-wai of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) and Senior Superintendent Chan Tung of the Liaison Bureau (LB) led three officers from CCB and LB to attend the 13th INTERPOL Annual Heads of National Central Bureau (NCB) Conference in Lyon, France, from March 7 to 9.

The conference served as a platform for fostering international collaboration in fighting transnational organised crime. A total of 269 delegates from 146 jurisdictions took part in the conference this year to exchange the best practices for boosting policing capabilities, and focused on building strong NCBs to enhance performance.

Meanwhile, the delegation attended a meeting with President of INTERPOL Mr Meng Hongwei, who commended the Hong Kong Police Force's contribution to the INTERPOL over the years, and shared with the delegates the INTERPOL's prospects.

The delegation also took the opportunity to visit the Assistant Director of Criminal Networks Sub-Directorate, INTERPOL, to discuss future security challenges and possible collaborative measures to tackle cross-jurisdictional financial crimes and money laundering.
