A seminar titled "Integrity Management in relation to Psychological well-being and Harmful Effects of being Alcoholics" was initiated by Acting Deputy Regional Commander of Kowloon West (KW) Ho Yun-sing at KW Regional Headquarters on March 31 with an aim to encouraging officers to lead a healthy lifestyle. Several professionals were invited to speak on the topic.


A Chinese medical practitioner, Dr Chou Wing-fu, was invited to outline the adverse effect of alcohol and how to quit drinking with the aid of Chinese medicine. Then Dr Lee Ka-yin from the Department of Health used images to illustrate the impact of alcohol on the body, and taught the attendees how to calculate the alcohol units in a vivid way.


Afterwards, Force Clinical Psychologist Miss Chan Fung-yee spoke on the psychological causes of drinking alcohol and its impact on families, children and work environment. Finally, Senior Inspector Chow Ching-chi from the Discipline Division talked about the disciplinary action for officers who work under the influence of alcohol and possible criminal penalties.
