Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) Yang Joe-tsi hosted a curry lunch for the Non-executive Chairman of the MTR Corporation (MTRC), Professor Ma Si-hang, and MTRC's senior management team on March 29 at the HKAPF Headquarters to forge bilateral ties. A total of 53 auxiliary members are working with MTRC on various positions as their principal employment.

Also attending the lunch gathering, Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung mentioned that auxiliary members played a very important role in supporting regular members. He said both groups of members were tasked to maintain law and order and ensure that Hong Kong remained one of the safest and most stable societies in the world.

Mr Yang briefed the MTRC representatives on the work of the HKAPF, adding that the auxiliary members came from different walks of life. These members served the community and applied what they had learned from the HKAPF in their principal employment, resulting in a win-win situation.

Professor Ma was impressed by the determination of auxiliary members in serving the community during their spare time. Noting that the training of auxiliary members was beneficial to MTRC's daily operations, Professor Ma said that he would fully support MTRC staff to join the HKAPF.

Other guests from MTRC joining the lunch included Chief Executive Officer Mr Lincoln Leong, Operations Director Mr Adi Lau, and Corporate Affairs Director Ms Linda So. Chief Superintendent of the Support Branch Kong Man-keung, Railway District Commander Lau Cheng-fung, Senior Superintendent of the Auxiliary Support Bureau Pang Shu-hung as well as seven auxiliary members serving in the MTRC also attended the gathering.
