The Police College conducted the first ever TeachLink interflow activity between their instructors and prospective teachers of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) on April 12 and 20 for exchange of teaching challenges and experience.

Over 50 lecturers and students of EdUHK met with six Police College instructors, namely Chief Inspector Cheng Yi-mui, Senior Inspector Cheng Pak-lam, Station Sergeants Wan Chin-kei and Yeung Chi-chun, and Sergeants Lam Sze-yam and Tang Chi-kwong.

The first round of exchange covered four discussion sessions on teachers' image, effective class management, handling campus bullying and teachers' stress while the second round of exchange focused on students' participation in triad societies / juvenile gangs, the use of social media and home-school co-operation. The Force instructors encouraged the prospective teachers to face up to difficulties fearlessly with a view to realising the vision of teaching for all.

Assistant Professor of the EdUHK's Department of Social Sciences Dr Ho Ka-ki said that the exchange enabled the prospective teachers to better understand how to equip themselves for their career. As the event has proved successful, the Police College will continue to hold TeachLink exchange activities in a bid to have more interaction with prospective teachers.
