Riding on the momentum of making the Guinness World Record last year, Shatin District (STDIST) continues to deliver the message of cycling safety to the community through Project Smart Rider this year. With over 500 students from 23 primary and secondary schools participating in the cycling safety training courses, the Smart Rider spirits are on the surge again!

Starting in May, the project features 12 lessons of basic cycling safety training and two sessions of advanced cycling safety training. In addition, six newly-introduced "Smart Rider +" safe-cycling practical sessions will take place in June and July for local schools. On top of that, students of a special school and an international school are going to ride side by side with other Smart Riders to spread the safety messages to the community.

On May 24, STDIST Commander Kwan Chui-ching attended one of the cycling safety training courses at Ma On Shan Lutheran Primary School to cheer on the young participants, and hoped they would perform well in a major cycling event to be held in Sha Tin in November.
