The appointment of 18 Integrity Ambassadors from different ranks by Wong Tai Sin District (WTSDIST) Commander James Betts earlier this year represented the strong commitment of WTSDIST to the cause of enhancing integrity management and professional sensitivity among officers. The ambassadors have the big task of assisting in promoting integrity management, enhancing professional sensitivity and nurturing integrity.

As an overseer, Mr Betts held regular tea gatherings to discuss the latest integrity cases with the ambassadors, with the latter filling him in on colleagues' views they have collected on the cases.

The ambassadors are divided into small teams, with each team taking turns collecting newspaper clippings on sensitive integrity issues involving police or public officers and paring the news down into what is dubbed the Integrity Incidents Menus, which are put on the canteen tables of WTSDIST and Sai Kung Division for interested parties to read and discuss. All this is done to raise integrity management at WTSDIST to a higher level while making officers aware of the likely consequences of insensitivity to law and police codes of ethics.
