The Regional Crime Prevention Office of Hong Kong Island (RCPO HKI) joined hands with the local uniform branches and Railway District to mount Operation EAGLEHUNT at Mass Transit Railway stations in the Region on September 23.


They distributed promotional materials with anti-pickpocketing and anti-theft messages to members of the public and tourists to heighten their awareness of crime prevention. In order to promote community participation, RCPO HKI invited the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps 606 Squadron to take part in the campaign.


Meanwhile, the Police Community Relations Office (PCRO) of Eastern District (EDIST) collaborated with a department store to organise a Fight Crime Publicity Campaign at the store on September 22 to raise customers' anti-theft awareness.


Officiating at the opening ceremony were Deputy Commander of EDIST Sit Ka-ho, Chairman of Eastern District Fight Crime Committee (EDFCC) Mr Leung Chi-kong and Chairman of Eastern District Council Mr Wong Kin-pan. Then the officiating guests joined with PCRO EDIST, Senior Police Call and Junior Police Call members of EDIST, Non-ethnic Chinese ambassadors, some Eastern District Councillors, EDFCC members and local representatives to distribute fight crime leaflets and souvenirs to shoppers in the store to remind them to take care of their personal belongings and beware of telephone scam.
