Police Minister in the Australian state of Victoria Ms Lisa Neville led a five-member delegation to visit the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) from November 3 to 6. She paid a courtesy call on Commissioner Lo Wai-chung amid their visit to the Operations Wing, Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Railway District and Yau Tsim District. Deputy Commissioner of Victoria Police Mr Shane Patton also joined the visit.


Mr Lo and Ms Neville discussed a wide range of policing issues, including the overall crime trends of Hong Kong and Victoria, strategies on combating cross-boundary crimes, as well as bilateral training arrangements. They also talked about the future direction of collaboration and recognised the significance of reinforcing the close partnership between the two places, with a view to maintaining a stable law and order situation in both jurisdictions.


Ms Neville said that the visit had enhanced her understanding of the work of and challenges faced by the HKPF. On the other hand, Mr Lo expressed his gratitude for the continuous assistance of Victoria Police.
