Kwai Tsing District (KWTDIST) conducted a large-scale security exercise, codenamed "WAYMAKER", at Tsing Ma Bridge on October 26 to test the emergency response, use of equipment and communication amongst the related police units and stakeholders.

The exercise simulated a vehicle with explosives crossing a cordon line and entering the lower deck of Tsing Ma Bridge, one of the critical infrastructures in Hong Kong, followed by a shoot-out between criminals and officers.

The exercise was held in a realistic setting involving not only uniformed officers of KWTDIST and Tsing Yi Division, but also officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Counter Terrorism Response Unit, Emergency Unit of New Territories South, Marine West Division, Fire Services Department and security staff of Tsing Ma Control Area. The professionalism and dedication displayed by all the participants made the exercise a great success.
