The Police Band visited Hong Chi Morninghill School in Tsui Lam on November 28 and gave two performances jointly with the Silver Band of the school. The friendly interaction between the Police Band and students with special needs and their performances were highly acclaimed by other students, their parents and teachers.

Senior Superintendent of School of Professional Development from the Police College Au Wing-leung said that the Police Band's visit not only strengthened their partnership with the school, but also encouraged officers to reach out to the community and promote social harmony.

Bandmaster of the Police Band So Tsz-on believed that the visit showed the Force's care for people with special needs. The Police Band pioneered an outreaching programme named "Music Touch" in late 2016 in an attempt to promote students' interest in learning music through school visits and interactive music performances. The programme has been well received by over 30 primary and secondary schools.
