Eastern District (EDIST) launched the "Year End Fight Crime Publicity Campaign - Bus Parade 2017" on December 1 in conjunction with Eastern District Fight Crime Committee (EDFCC) to remind the local communities to watch out for crimes, particularly burglary, money extortion activities as well as telephone, internet and social media deception.


Acting Deputy Commander of EDIST Chow Hung, Chairman of Eastern District Council Mr Wong Kin-pan, EDFCC Chairman Mr Leung Chi-kwong, EDFCC Vice-Chairman Dr Yeung Wai-hong, EDFCC Working Group Chairman Mr Liu Kam-hing, a representative of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Mr Yeung Yat-sze and Senior Liaison Officer of Eastern District Office Ms Wong Sze-man officiated at the opening ceremony at Oi Tung Estate, Shau Kei Wan. They then boarded a double-decker to go to various spots in the district to broadcast crime prevention messages in four languages, namely Cantonese, Putonghua, Hokkien and Urdu, and distributed publicity leaflets and souvenirs to local residents and shopkeepers.
