Collaboration with local & overseas academia


The Police College hosted a knowledge sharing session and joined an international conference in March to enhance exchanges with local and international academia.


Associate Professor of Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Dr Cheng Shu-kei, who is an Honorary Research Fellow of the Police College, was invited to attend a sharing session of the Force's Research Enhanced Applied Policing series on March 15. He shared with officers his research findings on the "Prevention of Injuries in Police Recruit Training". He not only talked about the hazards and risks in physical training, but also provided recommendations for preventing injuries during training.


In the international arena, Superintendent Yip Kit-fai and Chief Inspector Chau Ka-man of the Police College attended the International Conference on Innovation and Knowledge Management 2018 at Tsinghua University, Beijing, on March 17 and 18. With the theme of "Research on Knowledge Innovation", the conference attracted over 100 knowledge management practitioners, scholars and information technology leaders from around the world to explore innovative ways to improve organisational performance. On the same occasion, the organiser launched the Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise (MIKE) Award, which emphasises on innovation, replacing the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) programme.
