The Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) held a knowledge sharing session at the Police Headquarters on March 29 about the investigation of Loco London Gold (LLG) fraud and suspected fraudulent ATM withdrawals by UnionPay Cards. About 300 officers from criminal investigation units, frontline uniform branch and the Forensic Accountants' Office attended the event.


Senior Inspector (SIP) Poon Ngok-him of CCB explained to the attendees about the modus operandi and investigation techniques of LLG fraud, whilst Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions from the Department of Justice Ms Yang Mei-kei shared the key points of evidence gathering and prosecution. Then SIP Ko Lok-lam of CCB gave an update of the illegal use of UnionPay Cards in ATM withdrawal cases and offered guidelines for handling these cases.


This session had enhanced officers' professional knowledge and investigation competency in handling these types of cases.
