Representatives from four local and overseas logistics companies presented trophies and a banner to officers of Crime New Territories North (NTN) Headquarters and Team 1A of the Regional Crime Unit (RCU) on March 21 to express gratitude for their swift detection of a theft case. NTN Deputy Regional Commander Chan Yee-lai also commended the officers for their efforts and encouraged them to keep up their good work.

Early in the morning of January 22, staff of a local logistics company reported to the Police that their truck, loaded with electronic components worth of over $46 million, was stolen. Officers located the truck on the same day but the electronic components were gone. Following an investigation by Team 1A of RCU NTN, they recovered within 24 hours most of the electronic components at a remote warehouse in Pat Heung. NTN crime officers arrested the culprits in a follow-up operation and dismantled the syndicate.
