On behalf of some fishermen's groups, Director General Mr Wong Yung-kan and two representatives of the New Territories Fishermen Fraternity Association and Chairman of the Hong Kong Fishing Rafts Association Mr Ho Yee-chai presented tapestry flags to Divisional Commander Ip Chi-kuen, Assistant Divisional Commander (Operations) Chan Sze-man, officers of Task Force Sub-Unit (TFSU) and Patrol Sub-Unit (PSU) of Marine North Division (MNDIV) on March 19. The fishermen's leaders applauded their efforts in arresting seven Mainland illegal immigrants (II) in connection with illegal fishing activities.

Acting on intelligence, TFSU and PSU launched an Anti II and Illegal Trawling Operation on March 7 on Round Island in Mirs Bay. They arrested seven Mainland men, and seized fish catch and fishing tools. The case was followed up by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.
