The second round of the Public Events Engagement Course was held from April 18 to 20. Taking into account the feedback from previous participants, some new elements were added to the course.

Commanding Officer of the Police Negotiation Cadre Wong Kwong-hing and Force Clinical Psychologist Ms Ho Wing-sze were invited to teach the attendees communication skills and positive emotion respectively. Moreover, Chairman of Shatin District Fight Crime Committee Mr Wong Ka-wing was invited to share key factors in establishing good relationships with District Council Members.

At the closing ceremony of the course, Senior Superintendent of Major Incidents Bureau (MIB) Peter Whitton presented certificates of attendance to the attendees and thanked officers for their efforts in policing public events. All the attendees considered that the course was rewarding. It had not only strengthened their communication ability with stakeholders of public events, but also enhanced their professional sensitivity in handling these events. The course is planned to be held on a quarterly basis.
