Kwun Tong District Council Member Mr Tang Wing-chun, Kwun Tong District Fight Crime Committee Member Mr Lam Kin-yau and a representative of a property management company presented pennants and appreciation letters to officers of Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) Crime Squad 2 and Task Force Sub-Unit on April 30 for their professionalism and contribution in detecting several cases of community concern. These cases included a "suspected child abduction" case in the vicinity of Laguna City, a "theft from vehicle" case in the Millennium City as well as an "arson" case in On Tin Estate.

During the presentation ceremony, Mr Tang expressed his deepest appreciation to the officers for swiftly locating the suspected abductor and, after meticulous investigation, confirming that the incident was a misunderstanding. This curbed the spread of rumours and allayed residents' worries.

KTDIST Commander Chan Kwok-kee thanked members of the community for their support and appreciation. He highly commended the Uniform Branch and Crime officers for their team spirit and efforts in ensuring the safety of the community.
