The Police College made arrangements for Senior Inspectors Charm Yiu-kwong and Pun Siu-hun of Narcotics Bureau to attend the Drug Unit Commanders Course, organised by the International Law Enforcement Academy in Bangkok, Thailand, from April 23 to May 4.

The course was designed for commanders of drug enforcement units, with experts from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration as instructors. Thirty-five narcotics officers from Asian countries and regions, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam and Hong Kong, participated in the course.

Exploring topics from managers' perspective, the course covered leadership skills, operational planning, confidential source management, controlled delivery of drugs and narco-terrorism. The participants attended workshops to learn more about theories and application of drug law enforcement.

The course enabled the Force delegates to broaden their horizons and build a network with overseas counterparts.
