Marine South Division (MSDIV) ran a joint fire drill on May 17 to increase officers' resilience during the fishing moratorium.

Jointly conducted by the Inshore Patrol Sub-Unit of MSDIV, Marine Department (MD) and Aberdeen Fire Station of Fire Services Department (FSD), the exercise simulated a fire incident in Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. Marine Police immediatedly took firemen on a police launch to the fire scene for fire-fighting with other fire boats.

After the exercise, MSDIV Commander Ting Chi-kwok highly praised the officers and firemen for their professionalism, adding that the exercise has enhanced inter-departmental co-ordination. Meanwhile, Acting Assistant Divisional Commander (Administration) Lee Lok-man and Commander of Operations Support Sub-Unit Chan Cheuk-hung distributed leaflets in the typhoon shelter to promote fire prevention messages.
