The Police Karate-do Club (PKC) held the annual Karate-do Tournament at the Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) on April 29, with over 190 contestants from 11 local karate-do dojos participating in 26 events.

Officiating at an award presentation ceremony, Chairman of PKC Mr Young Chi-man said the tournament provided an opportunity for the contestants, comprising children, youngsters and adults, to exchange karate techniques and learn about the healthy lifestyle of officers.

In a bid to engage the community, the PKC has been taking part in the Active School Programme since 2015. Instructors from the PKC devote their spare time to offering karate-do briefings and training in primary schools. Recently, they offered basic training in karate to Primary 4 students at the Catholic Mission School.

The PKC runs for its members adult training sessions from 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesdays and junior training sessions from 7 pm to 9 pm on Fridays at PSRC. Serving or retired police officers (regular or auxiliary), civilian staff, and their family members are welcome to join.
