The annual ceremony of Display of Mace was held at the Police College on June 28 in memory of the late Sir Shiu-kin Tang. Sir Shiu-kin's son, Richard, and daughter, Yvonne, were present at the event.

Officiating at the ceremony, Commissioner Lo Wai-chung reminisced about the philanthropist's contribution to police staff welfare, and paid tribute to his family for their continuous support for the Force. Two silver maces were placed on a stack of traditional drums. A minute of silence was observed to honour Sir Siu-kin and then the Police Band played a selection of music to conclude the ceremony.

Donated by Sir Shiu-kin's family as an emblem of his close relationship with the Force, the two silver maces are used by the Police Band at major official functions.
