A total of 363 winners of the HSBC Junior Police Call (JPC) Awards Scheme 2017 were commended on June 16 for spreading fight crime messages, organising and participating in community services, promoting the JPC Scheme, and for their creativity in designing crime prevention tools.

They received prizes from Commissioner Lo Wai-chung; Group General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Asia Pacific of HSBC, Mr Raymond Cheng; Deputy Commissioner (Operations) Lau Yip-shing; Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung; JPC Central Advisory Board Chairperson cum Assistant Commissioner (Support) Lam Hiu-tong; Acting Chief Superintendent of Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) Yu Hoi-kwan; and JPC Ambassador Ms Money Lo.

Officiating at the award presentation ceremony, Mr Cheng said the HSBC has supported the scheme for more than 30 years to nurture young leaders. He hoped the JPC members would keep injecting positive energy into society.

Also speaking on the occasion, Ms Yu said the JPC Scheme aimed at developing young people's leadership skills and their sense of social responsibility. The scheme instilled positive values in youths and trained them to become future leaders. In addition to the JPC Scheme Awards, a "Fight Crime by Technology and Social Media Competition" was held to encourage youngsters to apply their creativity to spread fight crime and crime prevention messages via social media platforms.

The HSBC JPC Awards Scheme was organised by the Police with the sponsorship of the HSBC. The selection panel, comprising representatives from the PPRB, the HSBC and the JPC Central Advisory Board, chose the winners from entries recommended by districts. The winners are listed as follows.
