More than 40 frontline officers of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and the Fire Services Department (FSD) attended a sharing by representatives of the two disciplined forces in the Knowledge Cafe at the Police Headquarters on May 17.


Senior Bomb Disposal Officer of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau (EOD) Chow Shek-kin, Commander of Wanchai Division Kwok Mei-sum and Assistant Divisional Officer of FSD Mr Liu Chun-wor were invited to talk about the co-ordination of EOD, FSD and frontline police units in defusing World War II-era bombs unearthed at construction sites in Wan Chai in January and May.


The speakers explained the tactics adopted and outlined the challenges faced in the operations. The audience gained a better understanding of the risks involved in bomb disposal and the tremendous difficulties faced by the officers during the incidents.
