The Force's 31-member swimming team fetched 34 medals - 13 gold, eight silver and 13 bronze medals - in the Long Course Masters Swimming Championships on June 24. A highlight of the day was when Police Constables Mok Hon-hei and Chiang Filomeno broke the Force records in 50-metre breastroke for 30-34 and 35-39 age groups respectively. Furthermore, the Force's women teams emerged champions in four freestyle and medley relay races.

The tournament was organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Association at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park Swimming Pool. Several Force swimmers, who joined the Force Swimming Team after pulling off remarkable performances in the Force Swimming Gala last year, competed in the tournament for the first time. After months of training and team building, they achieved brilliant results in both relay and individual races.

Chairman of the Police Swimming Club Mr Ho Ka-fei was pleased with the Force swimmers' results. He encouraged them to keep up their spirit and get prepared for a series of upcoming competitions, in particular the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Police and Security Forces Sports Exchange" to be held in September in Foshan. He also looked forward to seeing Force members and their families in the annual Water Carnival scheduled for August 19 at Police Sports and Recreation Club.
