The Road Safety Team of Traffic Kowloon East (RST T KE) rolled out a series of road safety activities, titled "Join Hands for Road Safety", in July and August. This time, the elderly took the lead in promoting road safety messages to the community.

In late July, 31 senior road safety ambassadors from the True Light Villa District Elderly Community Centre of Christian Family Service Centre (CFSC), together with RST T KE, conducted observation of jaywalking at Tsui Ping Road. The ambassadors recorded their findings for further analysis.

In early August, the senior road safety ambassadors distributed road safety leaflets to pedestrians at Hip Wo Street and Tsui Ping Estate, together with Senior Police Call members, children from CFSC Cheerland Kindergarten and RST T KE.

On August 31, an inauguration ceremony for the senior road safety ambassadors was held at SKH Holy Cross Primary School, with KE Regional Commander Cheung Ching presenting appointment certificates to the ambassadors. Over 300 elderly people took part in the ceremony. The senior road safety ambassadors gave a presentation on their findings of jaywalking in the area. Other honourable guests included Kowloon East Regional Commander of the Hong Kong Road Safety Patrol Mr Chu Chi-ming, Chairman of Traffic and Transport Committee (TTC) of Kwun Tong District Council Ms So Lai-chun, Chairman of TTC of Sai Kung District Council Mr Lau Wai-cheung, Principal of SKH Holy Cross Primary School Mr Chan Chung-hong, Principal of Hong Kong Kindergarten Association Pre-school Ms Lam Shui-ki and social worker of True Light Villa District Elderly Community Centre Ms Hui Shuk-yee.
