Officers share new management concepts

The Police College invited Senior Superintendents Ng Lok-chun and Lau King-lun to share their insights gained from a Harvard programme at a session of the Blue Moon Sharing Series at the Police Headquarters on September 27.

Mr Ng and Mr Lau introduced two new management concepts, namely Moore's Strategic Triangle and "Agile versus Waterfall" management methodology. They explained how these concepts could be applied in the Force's daily operations and staff management. The two speakers also outlined 10 characteristics of successful leaders. In closing, they highlighted three important elements in achieving individual peak performance - Reflection, Attitude and Grit. Mr Ng and Mr Lau gained the knowledge from the Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University in June this year.

The Police College also made a live broadcast of the session to over 40 Probationary Inspectors at the Aberdeen campus. A video feed of the session has been uploaded to the "Highlights" section of the Knowledge Management Portal on Police Intranet (POINT).
