Following an introduction of special stamps about "Our Police Force" in the last issue of OffBeat, the Police College and the Police Philatelic Club will talk about the distinctive features and collection value of the special stamps and associated philatelic products in this story. The philatelic products will be issued by Hongkong Post next year to mark the 175th anniversary of the Force.

Chairman of the Police Philatelic Club Ip Lap-ngai said the philatelic products are worth collecting as this is the second time for the Hongkong Post to issue police related stamps and the supply of the philatelic products is limited.

The special set of six stamps with different denominations showcases a diversity of police work. They are specially designed to create an augmented reality effect. Collectors can view the stereoscopic images via the Hongkong Post's mobile app "HKPostStamps".

A stamp sheetlet, which is larger than the special stamps, depicts a wider scope of work of police units, including Traffic Team, Emergency Unit, Special Duty Unit and Police Dog Unit.

If a collector wants to get a full set of stamps and a stamp sheetlet, then a presentation pack would be the best choice for him. It is a prestigious folder containing the set of six stamps and the stamp sheetlet.

A stamp sheet comprises 25 stamps of the same denomination. It comes in six denominations. The white side of each stamp sheet is printed with a unique serial number and a barcode to increase its collection value. Collectors like to keep stamp sheets in their own stamp books.

A prestige stamp booklet provides more information and pictures about the Force. It tells the story of each stamp and increase collectors' understanding of the entire set of stamps.

A First Day Cover is an illustrated envelope to which the set of special stamps or the stamp sheet on the same theme is affixed, with a special postmark to increase its collection value. The special postmark will be used exclusively for First Day Cover on the issuance date and pre-order products.

The Police College and the Police Philatelic Club will share more information about philatelic products. Stay tuned with us!
