A group of community leaders presented certificates of appreciation and commendation calligraphy to Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) officers on September 12 in recognition of their dedication in the investigation of a robbery case.


The community leaders who attended the presentation ceremony included Chairman of Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee Ms Chan Heung-lin, Chairman of Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association Mr So Chung-ping, Chairman of Yau Tsim Mong South Area Committee Mr Yan Mou-keung, President of YTDIST Senior Police Call Honorary Presidents Council Mr Chiu Yu-hei and Yau Tsim Mong District Councillor Ms Kwan Sau-ling. Receiving the commendation were YTDIST Commander Chow Yat-ming, Assistant Commander (Crime) Chan Tsz-leung, Acting Chief Inspector (Crime) Chan Ka-ying and some crime officers.


On August 8, three employees of a money exchange shop were robbed of $10 million by some gangsters during a cash delivery at Middle Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. District Crime Squad Team 1 followed up the case. After in-depth investigation, the crime officers arrested 10 suspects between August 13 and 27, maintaining law and order in the District and bolstering community confidence in the Force.
