Kowloon East (KE) Region held its annual Sports Day cum Family Day at the Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) on November 30. Following intense contests, KE Regional Headquarters won the Overall Championship and the Most Active Family Participation Award.


Over 500 officers competed in 10 events, including seven-a-side football, three-on-three basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, bowling, lawn bowling, tug of war, indoor rowing and fun sports games. Of these events, bowling, indoor rowing and fun sports games were family based. In addition to snack booths, an instant photo corner was set up for the first time for officers to take photographs with their families and colleagues. Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Acting KE Regional Commander James Betts commended the officers for their active participation and outstanding performance.


Meanwhile, the Kowloon East Best DIT Award Presentation Ceremony 2018 was held at the PSRC on the same day to recognise the contribution of frontline crime units. District Investigation Team (DIT) 1 of Tseung Kwan O District emerged as the best DIT in the Region. Mr Betts presented certificates of recognition to the team members. He also commended the best DITs of other districts in KE, including DIT 5 of Kwun Tong District, DIT 5 of Sau Mau Ping District and DIT 5 of Wong Tai Sin District, for their remarkable performance. He praised the DIT officers for their enthusiasm, professionalism and dedication in the face of ever-increasing challenges in their work.
