The Police Adventure Club (PAC) ran the 41st Police Mountain Marathon on December 8 and 9, 2018, drawing the participation of over 30 teams of serving and retired police officers and their family members as well as other disciplined officers.

The marathon was an overnight orienteering race and comprised four categories, namely open, senior, female and novice groups. The teams, each of which consisted of two members, had to complete 35 to 42 kilometres within the time limit. They ran from Sunny Bay to Nam Shan Campsite on the first day and departed for Cheung Chau to complete the rest of the race on the second day.

The race was very challenging. It tested not only the participants' physical fitness, but also their orienteering skills and teamwork. They were required to carry specified equipment, including tent, food, water and first aid materials, throughout the journey. With a compass and a map, they had to make their way through the bushes for check points along the route, undertake command tasks with their smart phones and digital cameras, and complete an exciting point-to-point orienteering on Cheung Chau. In addition, a Fun Orienteering Race was held for the officers and their children to foster parent and child relationship.

PAC's Honorary Vice Chairman Mr Zai Tah-lam and Vice Chairman Mr Sin Chor-ka presided over the prize presentation ceremony.
