A total of 36 Junior Police Call (JPC) delegates departed for Singapore on February 8 for a five-day exchange programme with the Singapore National Police Cadet Corps (NPCC). The programme was organised by the Police Public Relations Branch to enrich the delegates' understanding of the Singapore Police Force (SPF), foster their communication with young people in Singapore, and widen the delegates' international horizons.

The NPCC is a uniformed group organised jointly by the SPF and the Singapore Ministry of Education. The NPCC and the Hong Kong JPC share common goals in enhancing youngsters' self-confidence and competitiveness as well as developing positive values and leadership skills of young people.

During the exchange programme, the JPC delegates visited various SPF units, attended the NPCC's field training camp and visited a secondary school to share views with students and NPCC members. They fully demonstrated the JPC spirit of mutual encouragement and support.

One of the delegates, Chau Lok-yi, said, "I marvelled at the rapid development of Singapore and found the cultural exchange very fruitful. Although the delegates were of different backgrounds and personalities, we showed understanding and support to each other. Last but not least, I learned the importance of self-discipline and punctuality."
